das kafkahaus

Premiere 01.02.2024, Schaubühne Lindenfels

With a walk-in theater landscape in the Schaubühne's over one hundred year old auditorium, whose still recognizable layers and stratifications appear to us today like an ongoing overwriting, a slowly growing collage, we are confronting the phenomenon of Kafka, whose oeuvre, so small in quantitative terms, seems to consist solely of fragments and unfinished works. Here in this room in our present, however, this Kafka house will once again and anew generate disquiet and reverberation.

Various artistic contributions come together to form an installation that changes over time - performances, video projections, art objects and sculptures can be experienced.

DAS KAFKAHAUS is part of EINHUNDERT KAFKA, a project by Schaubühne Lindenfels to mark the 100th anniversary of Franz Kafka's death.
